On 17 October 2026, Hero MotoCorp launched updated Xtreme 160R 4V and Xtreme 250R models with cruise control, a bi-directional quickshifter on the larger bike, and introductory prices from ₹1.27 lakh and ₹1.98 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

On 17 October 2026, Hero MotoCorp unveiled the Xtreme 160R 4V and a refreshed Xtreme 250R aimed at buyers who want sportier commuter and entry-premium motorcycles. The 160R 4V carries a four-valve 150cc engine, updated braking, and cruise control, with introductory ex-showroom Delhi prices of ₹1.27 lakh for the Standard trim, ₹1.37 lakh for Pro, and ₹1.41 lakh for Carbon. The 250R refresh is listed from ₹1.98 lakh, with a lower XTREME 250R variant at ₹1.84 lakh. Hero added more than 50 fit-and-finish tweaks on the 250R, including braided cables and a new swingarm cover, plus cruise control and a sensorless bi-directional quickshifter that allows upshifts and downshifts without clutch use. Bookings opened the same day; deliveries are scheduled from 1 November 2026. Chief business officer for the premium segment Anuj Dua told reporters that premiumisation remains a major growth opportunity and that the Xtreme family is central to that plan.
Indian two-wheeler demand is splitting between price-sensitive commuters and riders willing to pay for features once reserved for larger bikes. Cruise control and quickshifters signal that Hero is chasing the same upgrade path as rivals in the 200cc-plus bracket, not only chasing volume on bare-bones 100cc models. Selling the 250R through Premia outlets while keeping wider 160R availability lets the company test higher-touch retail without moving the entire network upscale. The price ladder places Hero near other premium commuters launched this festive season, including strong hybrids and refreshed sport nakeds. For the industry, it is another data point that festival demand is pulling buyers toward better-spec machines, echoing sharp online order growth other OEMs reported earlier in October.
If you are shopping for a daily rider with weekend highway use, compare on-road prices in your city, service intervals, and warranty on electronic rider aids before paying for Carbon or quickshifter trims. Test rides should cover low-speed traffic behaviour because cruise and quickshifter systems feel different from basic commuter bikes. Investors tracking Hero should watch initial registration data after 1 November and whether Premia outlets lift average selling prices without hurting mass-market share. Also watch finance offers during Diwali and how Yamaha, TVS, and Bajaj respond on feature lists in the same price bands.
Telecom / IPO
On 22 October 2026, exchange data showed Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 crore issue had drawn about ₹3.73 lakh crore of total bids by late evening on Day 2, with the retail portion oversubscribed and market commentators citing diverted cash from other listed stocks during the book build.
SEBI / market infrastructure
On 22 October 2026, the Securities and Exchange Board of India proposed letting stock exchanges and depositories fund core-market and regulator-mandated initiatives without prior approval for each ticket, while keeping board oversight and financial safeguards and inviting comments until 12 November.
E-commerce / food delivery
On 22 October 2026, reporting said Flipkart is testing an internal food delivery product called Eat-in by Minutes with more than 8,000 employees in Bengaluru, using Ekart logistics as it prepares to compete with Zomato and Swiggy in meal delivery.
Digital trust / compliance
On 22 October 2026, eMudhra Ltd said its board will voluntarily withdraw from the global SSL/TLS certificate segment after a key-security incident on eight intermediate certificates, citing compliance cost and weak economics while stressing that other digital-trust services continue.
